Cambridge Parent Meeting - January 24, 2012 at 5:30pm in the Marley Park Cafeteria
The Dysart Unified School District began offering The Cambridge Academy, an advanced academic program for middle school students, at Marley Park Elementary School beginning with the 2011-2012 school year. The Cambridge Program at Marley Park will seek to enable dedicated 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students to prepare for success in future academic pursuits while obtaining a comprehensive view of the world.
An internationally recognized program sponsored by Cambridge University in England, the academy offers a rigorous and relevant curriculum, preparing students to take a series of comprehensive examinations at the end of their 8th grade year. The examinations are scored by Cambridge University, and the students will receive feedback about their performance compared to students across the world. The advanced academic curriculum in Math, Science, English, and foreign language will also prepare students for advanced programs in high school, such as International Baccalaureate (IB) and Advanced Placement (AP), as well as providing opportunities for students to excel beyond state grade level expectations. Academically talented students are encouraged to apply for entry into the Dysart School District Cambridge Program at Marley Park Elementary School.
