Student Council

The purpose of the Student Council is to ensure all student voices are being heard. Student Council members approve all school wide fundraisers, plan school dances, volunteer for community events and promote school spirit. Student Council members are focused on being school wide leaders who communicate events to their homeroom classes.

National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)

The purpose of this chapter shall be to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, to encourage the development of character, and to foster active citizenship in students of CRS.  Available for grades 7th & 8th.

National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS)

The NEHS chapter at Canyon Ridge provides opportunities for students to become ambassadors for our school and take on community service projects. Our focus is on leadership, scholarship, responsibility, and service.  Available for grades 4th - 6th.

Library Crew

Students assist in upkeep of the library, cleaning iExplore and Depco Labs, and setting up for activities in iExplore. This is an open club. Students attend when they are able. Attendance will only be taken for the purposes of the celebration invitations at the end of the year. Available for grades 4th - 8th.

Yearbook

Students will use an online program to create the school yearbook. They will be responsible for taking pictures, designing and editing pages, setting appointments with staff, and working within a deadline. There will be opportunities for individual and collaborative work to complete their book. Students must be willing to commit to one day per week per quarter. Available for grades 6th - 8th.

Cougar Choir

Canyon Ridge Choral program is designed to create an opportunity for students to experience musical excellence in learning music and performing choral concerts. Students will also be encouraged to learn more about their own voice and to gain skills necessary to see musical and vocal growth. For the Canyon Ridge Cougar Choir specifically the purpose is to give students first hand experience at reading music, expressing music, and performing music as they grow as musicians. Available for grades 3rd - 5th.

Canyon Singers

Canyon Ridge Choral program is designed to create an opportunity for students to experience musical excellence in learning music and performing choral concerts. Students will also be encouraged to learn more about their own voice and to gain skills necessary to see musical and vocal growth. For the Canyon Ridge Canyon Singers specifically the purpose is to give students first hand experience at developing previously learned skills and adding depth of knowledge in both layering musical vocal parts, exploring new performance venues, and expanding musical repertoire. Available for grades 6th - 8th.

SWAG

The purpose of SWAG is to ensure all 8th grade voices are being heard. SWAG will work throughout the year to plan 8th grade activities to promote school spirit. Students will act as leaders to plan these activities. Available for 8th Grade.

iExplore After School

Students will be able to explore their interests. They will have access to 3-d printer, Dash and Dot, Cue, Sphero, computers, games, crafts, a sewing machine, and more. Available for grades 3rd - 8th.

Art Cast

ART CAST is a time for students to get creative and make art. CAST stands for Creative Artist Studio Time. Art Case will be a student lead time where they will decide on what to create and what media to use. Students will have access to supplies and teacher guidance. Due to the high interest in the art activity, there will be three separate 8-week sessions. Each session will take place on Wednesdays from 3pm to 4pm in the art room. Students can sign up for just one, two, or even all three if they like. Available for grades 5th - 8th.
