Dysart to Host Festival of the Arts on March 25

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - 02/16/2023

DYSART SCHOOLS - The Dysart Unified School District will host the Dysart Festival of the Arts on Saturday, March 25, 2023.  The festival will take place from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Valley Vista High School, 15550 N Parkview Place, Surprise. The festival is free to attend and is open to the public.

The festival will showcase the visual and performing arts programs from sixteen elementary schools, four middle schools, four high schools, and the Growing Minds Preschool in the Dysart Unified School District.  The day will be packed with back-to-back performances on eight stages, to include various band, choir, dance and theatre troops.   The K-12 schools and Growing Minds Preschool visual arts programs will be hosting two showcases to include both 2D and 3D pieces.  In addition to all the wonderful performances, arts vendors, local artists and food trucks will be on site.

New this year, will be an “Arts Experience” area, sponsored by IRIS USA, offering multiple hand-on opportunities for attendees to participate in the arts. Examples include 30-minute workshops on dance, bucket drumming, piano, ukulele, and art projects.

This year’s presenting sponsor is Germain Honda of Surprise. Some of the event highlights include Act One's Virtual Reality Arts Immersion Field Trips, WHAM Recycled Arts Make and Take Art Project, a Community Mural in which everyone can paint a part of the mural, as well as a Chalk Exhibition on the sidewalk.  This year's festival is proud to host over 60 arts vendors, food trucks and community partners.   These artisans will have their products on display for purchase. Visit www.Dysart.org/ArtsFest for more details or a list of performances, vendors and food trucks.
