Sept. 11 is Patriot Day. Honoring and remembering the victims, heroes, and first responders of 9/11.

The Dysart Unified School District Governing Board has placed Proposition 421 on the November 3, 2026 ballot to maintain safe, functional learning environments, and support continued growth. The estimated tax impact to the community is $3 per month, or $36 per year.* 

If approved, here are a few of the ways our schools and community needs will be supported:

• Replacement of aging air conditioning systems and fire panels
• Renovation of aging facilities
• Construction of a new elementary school
• Land for a high school

*Based on an estimated $0.17 tax rate on an average assessed home value of $215,435. Assessed value is determined by the Maricopa County Assessor's Office to calculate property taxes, and is not the same as the market value that a home would sell for. Tax rates are an estimate and are influenced by a variety of factors including Maricopa County assessed valuation fluctuations.

Whether you're a parent, grandparent, staff member, or community member, everyone is welcome! Our students and school are stronger with your support. The first day of school is Thursday, August 6—we can’t wait to see everyone back on campus, ready to learn, grow, and make it a great year. Be sure to get a good night’s rest, pack those backpacks, and come ready for an amazing start!

Join us for Meet the Teacher Night on Tuesday, August 4, from 5:00–7:00 PM! Meet your child's teacher, visit the classroom, and explore our campus before the first day of school. Representatives from Food & Nutrition, Transportation, PTSA, and our Military & Family Life Counselor (MFLC) program will be available to answer questions and share helpful information. Plus, a food truck will be on site serving up hot, fresh mini donuts available for sale! We can't wait to welcome our Luke families back to campus!

The Annual Student Update is now available and must be completed by August 31st. The update includes your student's contact and emergency information, medical information, required annual agreements (including the Technology Agreement), and handbook acknowledgements. Important: Students who have not completed the Annual Student Update by August 31 will have district technology access temporarily disabled until it is submitted. Back-to-school time has arrived, and we are excited to welcome our students and families for a new school year!

The 250th birthday of the United States is a milestone honoring our nation’s history, freedom, and the people who make it great. As you enjoy fireworks, family, and festivities, take a moment to reflect on 250 years of independence and the bright future ahead. Stay safe and have a wonderful 4th of July!

Dysart Unified School District is accepting new PreK-12 student enrollment applications for the 2026-2027 school year. Parents and guardians can complete the necessary registration information online at Dysart.org/enroll at any time. Within the enrollment application, parents are able to select their home school, or request their child attend another school outside of their boundary school, including Freedom Traditional Academy, through Open Enrollment. Preschool enrollment options are also available on the main enrollment link above, as well as at GrowingMindsPreschool.org. Learn more at Dysart.org/Preschool.

For in-person enrollment assistance between June 8th and July 1st, families may visit the District Office Monday through Thursday at 15802 N. Parkview Place in Surprise, Arizona from 8am-4:30pm.  All K-12 school offices will reopen for in person enrollment on Wednesday, July 8.

Please note that in order to finalize registration the following documents will be required: government issued photo identification; birth certificate; proof of residency; and immunization records. To keep up with their child’s academic progress, parents are encouraged to sign up for the Parent Portal at Dysart.org/parentportal or via the Campus Parent app, available as early as 24 hours after registration is finalized. Monday, May 25 is Memorial Day. School offices will be closed as we honor and remember the service and sacrifice of our nation’s military members.

Have a safe, fun, and relaxing summer break, Luke Jets! The last day of school is May 21, and we hope you enjoy every moment of your summer adventures with family and friends. We look forward to welcoming all students back for the first day of school on August 6. Have an amazing summer, Jets!

Wednesday May 20 and Thursday May 21 are half days with dismissal at 12:00 PM. Please plan accordingly for pickup or after-school arrangements.
