Friday 11/20 we will hold a Turkey Trot from 8:30 - 10:00 am and then we will begin our Thanksgiving Lunch. Please see all the information below:

Turkey Trot:

We will be running the Turkey Trot in 3 different grade band groupings from 8:30-10:00 am. Families are invited to come perticipate with their students and cheer on all of our Bobcats! Specific class information will be sent home from your student's homeroom teachers!

Thanksgiving Lunch:

Thanksgiving Lunch is always a memorable day at Sunset Hills when we invite out Bobcat families to come join us and share a special meal with their students. We do have adjusted lunch times for the day. Please make note of any changes to your student's lunch schedules below. 

Thanksgiving lunches can be purchased at the front gate for families on the day of the Thanksgiving Lunch. Payments for non-students must be made with cash. Meals for non-students are $5.00. 

Students will pay at the lunch cash register in the cafe using their school cafe account. Student meals are $2.75.

Sunset Hills will be celebrating Veteran's and their families on Tuesday November 10th 

The morning will start with a special breakfast from 7:20 am to 8:00 am for Veteran's and their families. Breakfast will be followed by a special school wide assembly. 

If you or your Veteran would like to attend please RSVP by October 30th via the invitations that went home with students or by completing an RSVP in the front office.

The Dysart Unified School District Governing Board has placed Proposition 421 on the November 3, 2026 ballot to maintain safe, functional learning environments, and support continued growth. The estimated tax impact to the community is $3 per month, or $36 per year.* 

If approved, here are a few of the ways our schools and community needs will be supported:

• Replacement of aging air conditioning systems and fire panels
• Renovation of aging facilities
• Construction of a new elementary school
• Land for a high school

*Based on an estimated $0.17 tax rate on an average assessed home value of $215,435. Assessed value is determined by the Maricopa County Assessor's Office to calculate property taxes, and is not the same as the market value that a home would sell for. Tax rates are an estimate and are influenced by a variety of factors including Maricopa County assessed valuation fluctuations.

Dysart Unified School District is accepting new PreK-12 student enrollment applications for the 2026-2027 school year. Parents and guardians can complete the necessary registration information online at Dysart.org/enroll at any time. Within the enrollment application, parents are able to select their home school, or request their child attend another school outside of their boundary school, including Freedom Traditional Academy, through Open Enrollment. Preschool enrollment options are also available on the main enrollment link above, as well as at GrowingMindsPreschool.org. Learn more at Dysart.org/Preschool.

For in-person enrollment assistance between June 8th and July 1st, families may visit the District Office Monday through Thursday at 15802 N. Parkview Place in Surprise, Arizona from 8am-4:30pm.  All K-12 school offices will reopen for in person enrollment on Wednesday, July 8.

Please note that in order to finalize registration the following documents will be required: government issued photo identification; birth certificate; proof of residency; and immunization records. To keep up with their child’s academic progress, parents are encouraged to sign up for the Parent Portal at Dysart.org/parentportal or via the Campus Parent app, available as early as 24 hours after registration is finalized. To find out if your child is eligible for transportation, visit Dysart.org/Transportation.

Enrollment Information

If you were enrolled with us for the 25/26 school year, your information automatically rolls over to the next school year! If you were not with us for the 25/26 school year, or you withdrew before the last day of school, you will need to complete the enrollment process online. 

Once completed, you will receive an email with instructions for the next steps. In order to finalize enrollment you will need the following:  

• Completed Enrollment Application Online 
• Provide copies of a Proof of Residence, Birth Certificate, and Immunization Records. These can be provided digitally by uploading them during the online application or by bringing copies in person to our front office. Even if uploaded, we will still need to see the original Birth Certificate, along with legal guardian's photo ID, in our office.  
• For newly enrolled 5th-8th Grade students you will need to choose Elective Courses. Elective Course Options can be found here:

Kinder Experience - July 20th to July 23rd

Join us for this free event, 7/20-7/23, from 8am-11am to help your future Kinders with a smooth transition to Kindergarten!

Your child will explore reading and math instruction while learning routines, proceures and expectations needed for making friends and having a succesful school experience. This will help with their transition into school and ease their anxiety as they begin a new school year!
