Fall Sports & Make Up Picture Day - October 30th
Fall sports and make up pictures are scheduled for Friday, October 30th.
Orders can be placed online at mydorian.com before Picture Day and for up to 2 days afterward.
If you have questions about how to order, you can reach out to Dorian's Customer Advocate Team at 800-826-3535 or via their website, mydorian.com.
If you want your child's picture retaken, Dorian requests the return of the original packet that was purchased to be brought in and given to the photographer the day of makeup pictures.
Students do not need to dress in uniform on picture day, but must adhere to the Dysart District Dress Code. This information can be found in the Student and Parent Handbook.

• New air conditioning systems to ensure a safe environment, and uninterrupted learning for students
• New fire panels to improve safety at all schools

• Renovation of aging facilities, to include construction of public restrooms for athletic facilities at our high schools, renovation of the aging auditorium at Dysart High School, the district’s original high school.

Important Dates/Times to Know
- 1:00 PM Early Release on Thursday October 8th and Friday October 9th due to Parent Teacher Conferences.
- Parent Teacher Conferences are being held all week October 5th - October 9th.
- The front office closes at 1:45 PM on October 9th.
- No school October 12th - October 16th due to Fall Break. (Front office is also closed at this time.)

Would you like to create/make an E-Wallet for your student? An e-wallet allows your student to have an account with money to spend without needing to bring cash to school! When it is their class shopping time, we will print out their e-wallets and let them know how much they have to spend, and help them get whatever they are looking for. If you need assistant with your e-wallet, you can call customer support and they can help make it as easy as possible.

Freedom PTA is hosting a Neon Bingo Night! Join us on September 25th at 6pm in the cafeteria.

Information about Prop 421
The Dysart Unified School District Governing Board has placed Proposition 421 on the November 3, 2026 ballot to maintain safe, functional learning environments, and support continued growth. The estimated tax impact to the community is $3 per month, or $36 per year.*
If approved, here are a few of the ways our schools and community needs will be supported:
- Replacement of aging air conditioning systems and fire panels
- Renovation of aging facilities
- Construction of a new elementary school
- Land for a high school

*Based on an estimated $0.17 tax rate on an average assessed home value of $215,435. Assessed value is determined by the Maricopa County Assessor's Office to calculate property taxes, and is not the same as the market value that a home would sell for. Tax rates are an estimate and are influenced by a variety of factors including Maricopa County assessed valuation fluctuations.

Grandparents Day Breakfast
Freedom Traditional Academy's PTA is hosting Grandparents Day Breakfast in the cafeteria on September 4th from 7:15am to 7:55am.
The cost is $4.00 per Grandparent/Adult.
Students will need to pay through their school account. Money can be added to their student nutrition account or can be paid at the register - the cost for student breakfast is $1.50.

Red, Blue & Ready for Kinder event on July 30th
PTA is sponsoring an event for all incoming Kindergarteners - Red, Blue & Ready for Kinder! This event will be on July 30th for 9:00am to 12:00pm. The cost is $30 per student and will include an exclusive Kinder shirt, snack and family lunch. More information on this event will be coming soon!

New Student Enrollment Open for 26-27 School Year
Dysart Unified School District is accepting new PreK-12 student enrollment applications for the 2026-2027 school year. Parents and guardians can complete the necessary registration information online at Dysart.org/enroll at any time. Within the enrollment application, parents are able to select their home school, or request their child attend another school outside of their boundary school, including Freedom Traditional Academy, through Open Enrollment. Preschool enrollment options are also available on the main enrollment link above, as well as at GrowingMindsPreschool.org. Learn more at Dysart.org/Preschool.
For in-person enrollment assistance between June 8th and July 1st, families may visit the District Office Monday through Thursday at 15802 N. Parkview Place in Surprise, Arizona from 8am-4:30pm. All K-12 school offices will reopen for in person enrollment on Wednesday, July 8.
Please note that in order to finalize registration the following documents will be required: government issued photo identification; birth certificate; proof of residency; and immunization records. To keep up with their child’s academic progress, parents are encouraged to sign up for the Parent Portal at Dysart.org/parentportal or via the Campus Parent app, available as early as 24 hours after registration is finalized. To find out if your child is eligible for transportation, visit Dysart.org/Transportation.
