This year, Marley Park Elementary School is doing something a little different to promote reading and literacy with students. As part of a movement across the nation called “Rock Your School”, the teachers decided to create an outside-the-box educational experience meant to deliver content in an extraordinary way. Marley Park will participate in a program called One School, One Book, which is designed to create a shared reading experience across the entire school community. To kick off the program, teachers wrote and sang their own song entitled, “Learning to Read.” They filmed a rock video for the song and presented to the school at an assembly to get the students excited about the program.
