Bond and Override Committee

A Bond and Override Committee composed of parents, community members and staff is met to evaluate the district’s potential needs and make recommendations to the Governing Board. Committee meetings were open to the public to observe, but only committee members were permitted to participate. An update was provided to the Governing Board at each Board Meeting following a committee meeting.

Process and Timeline

September 18 - October 5 - Committee Interest Form Became Available

The community had the opportunity to complete an interest form to serve on a Bond and Override Committee to evaluate the district’s potential needs and make recommendations to the Governing Board.

October 24 - Committee Meeting

November 14 - Committee Meeting

At 6:00p.m. at the Dysart Schools Governing Board Room, 15802 N. Parkview Place, Surprise AZ 85374. 

November 28 - Committee Meeting

At 6:00p.m. at the Dysart Schools Governing Board Room, 15802 N. Parkview Place, Surprise AZ 85374. 

December 12 - Committee Meeting

March 14 -  Committee Presented Final Recommendations to Governing Board 

Committee spokespersons presented their final recommendations to the Governing Board for consideration.

About School District Bonds and Overrides

Bonds fund projects that have a useful life of more than five years, like major building projects, renovations, technology, furniture and equipment, buses, and land purchases. Overrides fund day-to-day operational expenses above and beyond the district’s Revenue Control Limit.
