Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment & Cognitive Testing

For the protection the health of our student athletes, DUSD has implemented a concussion assessment tool known as ImPACT which stands for Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing. ImPACT is the most widely used computerized concussion evaluation system among school athletics.   The student athlete will undergo a baseline test at the start of the sports season.  These baseline scores are recorded and stored on a secure web portal.   If a student athlete is suspected of having a concussion, a post injury test is administered.  Test results are compared to baseline scores and provided to the student's healthcare provider as assessment of the injury.
