Diploma Seals
The State of Arizona offers three seals to recognize high school students who achieve proficiency in related course work and additional examinations along with extracurricular tasks. Students are recognized with a seal on their diploma and notation on their transcripts. Information on the seals can be found HERE.
Seal of Personal Finance
A.R.S. §15-260 establishes the State Seal of Personal Finance Proficiency Program. This program recognizes high school students who have attained a high level of proficiency in Personal Finance at the time of graduation. Proficiency is determined by completion of a set of State Board of Education Approved Tasks. The seal is placed on the diploma and noted on the transcript.
Seal of Civics Literacy
A.R.S. §15-259 establishes the State Seal of Civics Literacy (Program). This program recognizes high school students who have attained a high level of proficiency in Civics at the time of graduation. Proficiency is determined by completion of a set of State Board of Education Approved Tasks. The Seal is placed on the diploma and noted on the student's transcript.
Seal of Biliteracy
The Seal of Bi-literacy is an award that recognizes a student's proficiency in two or more languages while in high school. The seal highlights the importance of being fluent in multiple languages within the academic community. The Seal is currently awarded in 36 states in the United States and continues to gain academic scholarly credit within the United States.
SB 1111 ~ The Arizona State Seal of Arts Proficiency is the latest testament to a rich history of excellent arts education in the state. This diploma seal is administered by the Arizona Department of Education’s Office of Arts Education and is awarded to graduates who complete minimum arts pathway requirements throughout their high school career.
