School Year Calendars

According to Arizona law, school is in session for 180 days for all students. Dysart has a traditional-style school calendar. The process of setting a school calendar begins with a community committee, includes an opportunity for public input, and is ultimately approved by the district Governing Board.

• July 31 - First Day for Students  
• August 4 - First Day for Preschool 
• August 5 - High School Meet the Teacher Night 
• September 1 - Labor Day 
• October 9-10 - K-8 Parent / Teacher Conferences (½ days for K-8)  
• October 13-17 - Fall Break  
• October 23 - CTE Expo 
• November 4 - Band Jam
• November 6 - Future Freshman Night  
• November 11 - Veterans Day (Observed) 
• November 12 - Open Enrollment Begins 
• November 24-28 - Thanksgiving Recess 
• December 18-19 - High School Final Exams (10:30am high school release)

• January 6 - School Resumes   
• January 19 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Students are dismissed early every Monday beginning Aug 4 to provide time for teacher professional development.
