Do you have a Bachelor's Degree?

We’ll certify you to be a TEACHER with on-the-job training and support.

The Dysart Unified School District is offering an Educator Preparation Program (EPP), called Ready2Teach, which prepares individuals who possess a bachelor’s degree to receive a Classroom-based Standard Elementary Teacher Certificate with paid on-the-job training and support.

The Ready2Teach Program provides the following opportunities:

  • Develops teachers that meet Dysart expectations and the needs of students
  • Recruits, invests and retains alternative pathway teachers
  • Provides paid, job-embedded training and coaching
  • Provides evidence-based professional development
  • Allows those with a non-education bachelor’s degree the opportunity to become a teacher without going back to school, paying tuition, or spending extra hours after work

The Ready2Teach Program will be a two-year model with the potential of three years, if recommended for a particular teacher. Ready2Teach Program teachers will experience over 150 hours of professional development in each year of the two- year model. Moreover, Ready2Teach teachers will be provided job-embedded coaching and mentorship. The job-embedded coaching and mentorship will include frequent classroom visits and feedback with the focus of modeling, videotaping, and observing of other classrooms. There will also be ongoing communication with the program teacher and school leadership.

The Ready2Teach Program school year will begin two weeks prior to start, end two days after, extend through some breaks, and will include release time from school at least once per month when compared to the standard teacher work calendar.
