Greetings Mustang Families and welcome to the 2024-25 school year!
As a native Arizonan, I earned my undergraduate degree from Arizona State University (Forks Up!) and my Master's in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University (Go Jacks!). Prior to joining Dysart, I taught in the Peoria Unified School District. Since 2005, I have had the privilege of being part of the DUSD family, serving as a teacher, instructional leader, assistant principal and principal. My connection to the district runs deep, as my children are graduates of DUSD. This personal investment fuels my passion for ensuring that all families have an exceptional experience at The Ranch.
I am thrilled to embark on this journey with you as we enter year four of Ashton Ranch Middle School. As we continue to grow and evolve, our goal remains to provide students with a strong foundation for excelling in high school and beyond. We are committed to offering challenging academics and a variety of high-quality electives and extracurricular activities. With the support of our families and school community, we endeavor to embrace our Mustang P.R.O.U.D. values and cultivate a culture of student success.
I am looking forward to our partnership this year and as always, P.R.O.U.D. to be a Mustang!

Hello Mustang Families!
Welcome back to a new school year. I am so excited to join the team at Ashton Ranch and I’m looking forward to working together this year. I have been an educator for twenty-one years and have served in the Dysart Unified School District since 2012. Prior to moving into administration, I served in the district as a teacher and school data improvement specialist.
I started my education career at Northern Arizona University where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, a Master of Education in Bilingual and Multicultural Education and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership. In 2017, I graduated from Arizona State University with a Doctor of Education in Innovation and Leadership. I love working in education and watching students grow into their best selves. I firmly believe that all students can learn.
My family and I have lived in Surprise since 2002 and at the end of this year, all three of my children will be Dysart graduates. My favorite pastime is camping with my incredible husband, David, and my three amazing children.
Remarkable things are happening at Ashton Ranch and I am honored to join the team. I look forward to working with you as we continue to cultivate a culture of success. Go Mustangs!
Sincerely,
Dr. Kasey Romero
