The Vista Center for the Arts Launches 21-22 Season

The Vista Center for the Arts, 15660 N Parkview Place, Surprise, AZ 85374, is set to launch its 21/22 season with an impressive lineup of shows for the community. Tickets are on sale now at TheVistaAZ.com or by phone at (623) 523-8888.

The season kicks off on September 10 and 11 with a two-day Country Music Festival paying tribute to our heroes for the 20th anniversary of 9/11. With a stellar lineup including Shooter Jennings, Chase Bryant, Lee Rocker, Austin Burke, and Jerrod Niemann, the festival has something for everyone. The rest of the season touts a wide variety of acts ranging from comedians, magicians, plays, orchestras and other musical acts, and the holiday season offers a Christmas concert with country superstar Sara Evans.

Built in 2008, The Vista is a state-of-the-art performing arts center operated by Dysart Unified School District. This venue offers a spacious lobby with 1,300 plush seats in the house, and theatrical sound/lighting. In 2020, Dysart Unified School District opened The Vista Center for the Arts, 15660 N Parkview Place, Surprise, AZ 85374 as a regional entertainment venue serving the entire West Valley.   • September 10-11, 2021 - Country Music Festival: Remembering our heroes on the 20th anniversary of 9/11 with Shooter Jennings, Lee Rocker, Kendell Marvel, Buddy Jewell, Chase Bryant, Jerod Niemann, Austin Burke, and Gabe Lee. 
  • September 24, 2021 - Generation Radio (Formerly The Rise Above): Made up of musical legends - two-time Grammy Award winning Jay Demarcus of Rascal Flatts, former lead singer and drummer of Journey, Deen Castronovo, and former lead vocalist and bass player of the multi-platinum band Chicago for over 30 years, the band brings 80’s rock and classic music back to life. 
  • October 1, 2021 - Lorrie Morgan: Lorrie Morgan has sold over 8 million records, including 14 top ten hits, and has received multiple CMA awards. She was one of the youngest performers to be named a member of the Grand Ole Opry! 
  • October 16, 2021 - Wicked Divas: A concert of Diva showstoppers starring Glinda and Elphaba from the Broadway production of Wicked and featuring selections from Wicked, Gypsy, Ragtime, Titanic, Phantom of the Opera and many others!  
  • October 24, 2021 - Doo Wop Project: Featuring stars of Broadway’s smash hits Jersey Boys and Motown: The Musical, the Doo Wop Project brings unparalleled authenticity of sound and vocal excellence to recreate—and in some cases entirely reimagine—some of the greatest music in American pop and rock history! 
  • Oct. 30, Dec. 18, 2021, Jan. 8, Jan. 30, Apr. 1, 2022 - AZ Philharmonic: Arizona Philharmonic is a professional orchestra from Prescott, AZ with leading musicians from across the state, representing Phoenix, Flagstaff, Tucson, and Arizona Opera orchestras. Select from five varied and compelling performances coming to The Vista.
  • November 13-14, 2021 - Count Basie Orchestra: The Count Basie Orchestra, today directed by Scotty Barnhart, has won every respected jazz poll in the world at least once, won 18 Grammy Awards, performed for kings, queens, and other world royalty, appeared in several movies, television shows, at every major jazz festival and major concert hall in the world. 
  • Nov. 21, Dec. 19, 2021, Jan. 16, Feb. 13, Mar. 6, Apr. 3, 2022 - West Valley Symphony: Now in its 53rd season, the West Valley Symphony’s 70-plus professional musicians perform 6 concerts each season at The Vista under the baton of Maestro Cal Stewart Kellogg for patrons from throughout the valley.  
  • November 27, 2021 - Sara Evans, At Christmas: Over the last two decades, Evans has carved a successful career anchored by her insightful songwriting and warm, evocative voice. As the fifth most played female artist at country radio, Evans continues to be a force on the road with tour dates criss-crossing the country. Ring in the holidays with songs such as “Silent Night,” “Winter Wonderland,” “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” and “O Come All Ye Faithful.” 
  • December 3, 2021 - Nochebuena: A Christmas Eve in Mexico: Celebrate the holidays at home with this vibrant evening of music and dance featuring two of L.A.’s most acclaimed performance ensembles: Ballet Folklórico de Los Ángeles and Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuéllar. Christmas in Mexico isn’t just a single day; it's a whole season of Christmas-related celebrations enriched by indigenous culture, Spanish heritage, and other influences.  
  • December 22-23, 2021 - A Christmas Carol: Celebrate the true Spirit of Christmas with this brand new, original production. A Christmas Carol is delightful and thoroughly entertaining, it is the perfect family holiday event. 
  • January 15, 2022 - LaKisha Jones: Join American Idol Finalist LaKisha Jones in a celebration of the great ladies of soul from Diana Ross, Donna Summer, Tina Turner, the legendary Aretha Franklin and the one and only Whitney Houston. “...from sound stages and concert halls across the country and around the world, she’s got them standing in the aisles!" 
  • January 22, 2022 - Ambrosia: In 1970, four young musicians from the South Bay of Los Angeles, came together to create a new invigorating style of music. With three of the original members intact plus the addition of guitar ace Doug Jackson on electric guitar and backing vocals, Mary Harris contributing amazing keyboards and vocals, and the powerful and contemporary lead vocals and acoustic guitar of Ken Stacey. 
  • January 29, 2022 - Louie Anderson: Iconic comedian Louie Anderson, the three-time Emmy Award® winner, is one of the country’s most recognized and adored comics; named by Comedy Central as “One of 100 Greatest Stand-Up Comedians of All Time.” 
  • February 19, 2022 - Xavier Mortimer - The Dream Maker: The most-followed magician on the Las Vegas Strip, with numerous appearances on TV shows such as America's Got Talent, Masters of Illusion and Penn and Teller Fool Us, Xavier will be incorporating many of his viral online videos in the new show so people can see them live, up close and personal. Xavier’s “The Dream Maker,” delivers a dynamic and visual, family-friendly production. 
  • February 27, 2022 - Dinosaur World Live: Using stunning puppetry to bring remarkably life-like dinosaurs to the stage, dare to experience the dangers and delights of Dinosaur World Live in this roarsome interactive show for the whole family! • March 5, 2022 - BYU International Folk Dance Ensemble: Combining ethnic traditions with exquisite costuming, Brigham Young University’s International Folk Dance Ensemble showcases the dance styles of the world. 
  • March 9, 2022 - The Hot Sardines: Fueled by the belief that classic jazz feeds the heart and soul, The Hot Sardines are on a mission to make old sounds new again and prove that joyful music can bring people together in a disconnected world. The eight-piece ensemble has toured more than 250 cities throughout North America, Europe and Asia. 
  • March 12, 2022 - Rodney Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass: The Rodney Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass is America’s premier large brass ensemble. A group that always reflects the diverse makeup of men and women in the American culture, RMPBB is dedicated to the notion that music is a gift to be enjoyed by everyone. Performances range from solo trumpet, to brass quintet, to the full eleven-piece ensemble with percussion. 
  • June 26, 2022 - Madagascar The Musical: Join Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria as they bound out of the zoo and onto the stage in this live musical spectacular. This smash hit musical features all of your favorite crack-a-lackin' friends as they escape from their home in New York's Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien's Madagascar.
