Dysart Seeks Input on Capital Needs and Potential Bond

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - 11/18/2021

The Dysart Unified School District is seeking community input to address the capital needs of the district. The input will be used to help determine how the district will address capital challenges that it will be facing in the near future. Individuals may provide their feedback through an online survey available at www.dysart.org/survey or in Spanish at www.dysart.org/encuesta through December 5, 2021.

The survey lists potential bond projects with their expected costs and a brief description that could go to voters for their consideration, if the Governing Board were to approve a bond election. Items range from school design and construction, to a land purchase for a future high school, safety and security and transportation.

Dysart Schools serves nearly 24,000 pre-kindergarten through 12th grade students in the Northwest Phoenix Metropolitan area.  The district encompasses 140 square miles, serving parts of El Mirage, Glendale, Surprise, Youngtown, and Maricopa County.  The district is home to four K-4 elementary schools, four middle schools serving grades 5-8, 12 K-8 elementary schools, four comprehensive high schools, a preschool, and one alternative program. The last voter-approved bond for Dysart was in 2006. District budget details, including the most recent override and bond information is always available at Dysart.org/Budget.
