Board Launches Superintendent Search

The Dysart Unified School District Governing Board is seeking applicants for Superintendent. Applications will be accepted through August 8, 2022 at Dysart.org/Careers.
Candidates must have the background, skills and abilities essential for excellence in educational leadership. Requirements include three (3) years of experience as a District Superintendent, and/or Assistant or Associate Superintendent of a rapidly growing urban or suburban unified school district; a doctorate from an accredited institution; possession of or ability to obtain Arizona Superintendent certification; and ability to obtain or maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
The Governing Board will be seeking input from parents, staff and the community on desired characteristics in early August, and plans to select finalists in late August. Finalist interviews with the Board as well as a panel of constituents representing the district are scheduled to take place in September. It is anticipated that the process will be completed in October, 2022 with a July 1, 2023 start date. Dysart has been serving the Northwest Phoenix Metropolitan community since 1920, and now serves nearly 24,000 pre-kindergarten through 12th grade students. The district encompasses 140 square miles, serving parts of El Mirage, Glendale, Surprise, Youngtown, and Maricopa County. The district is home to four K-4 elementary schools, four middle schools serving grades 5-8, 12 K-8 elementary schools, four comprehensive high schools, a preschool, and one alternative program.
