Dysart Board Hires New Superintendent for Next School Year

DYSART SCHOOLS - The Dysart Unified School District Governing Board voted unanimously on April 13, 2023 to hire Dr. John Croteau to serve as the Dysart Schools Superintendent, beginning on July 1, 2023.

Dr. Croteau has been with Dysart since 2019, currently serving the district as Assistant Superintendent for Support Services and previously as the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources. He holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Acacia University, a Masters in Administration from University of Phoenix, and a Bachelors in Mathematics from Colorado State University.

“Dysart is a strong district, and I am honored to continue the important work being done here,” said Dr. Croteau. “Our focus will continue to be on providing the highest quality academics, arts and athletic opportunities to our deserving community.”

The Board voted to enter into contract negotiations with Dr. John Croteau at the March 30, 2023 Governing Board meeting, after they approved the resignation of Dr. Jim Dean, effective June 30, 2023.

“The Board is looking forward to Dr. Croteau’s continued leadership in his new role as Superintendent,” said Governing Board President, Chrystal Chaffin. “I am confident that he will keep Dysart moving in a positive direction as we focus on student learning. I believe under his leadership, Dysart will continue a commitment to excel in academics, arts, and athletics.”
