Dysart to Host Law Enforcement Simunitions Training

DYSART SCHOOLS - The Dysart Unified School District is proud to partner with the Arizona Department of Education and law enforcement officials to host a Simunitions Training for active shooter and school-based threat responses. The community should be aware that on Wednesday, June 21 between 8:00am and 4:00pm people may hear what sounds like actual gunfire in the vicinity of West Point Elementary School (13700 W Greenway Rd, Surprise, AZ 85374) as part of the training.  

Simunitions Training is a live training for law enforcement that is designed to duplicate real world conditions and scenarios as closely as possible. During the training, very specific and redundant safety protocols are followed to ensure that no injuries or serious damage occurs. While only specific training ammunition is used, it may sound like actual gun fire depending on an individual's proximity to the location.
