FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — 10/28/2019

The Dysart Unified School District will host a College 101 Parent Night for parents of 7th through 12th grade students interested in learning about the college acceptance and financial aid process for their children on Tuesday, November 12 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Valley Vista High School Performing Arts Center located at 15550 N. Parkview Place in Surprise, Arizona.  Participating parents will have the opportunity to learn about FAFSA, ACT/SAT testing, AP vs Dual Enrollment classes, scholarship opportunities, academic eligibility, CTE pathways, visit with college reps and learn how their children can use their high school experience to successfully bridge to higher education.

“This event is a great way for our families to learn about preparing for college, including learning about planning for the college enrollment process,” said Assistant Superintendent for Education Services Dr. Stephen Poling.

The evening will be broken up into sections where parents will attend specified sessions lasting 20 minutes with specific topics personalized to family interests.  Additionally, representatives from Arizona State University, Grand Canyon University, Northern Arizona University, Ottawa University, and many others will be available for questions.
