Dysart to host Festival of the Arts

The Dysart Unified School District will host the Dysart Festival of the Arts on Saturday, March 28, 2020.  This year’s presenting sponsor is McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. The festival will take place from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Valley Vista High School, 15550 N Parkview Place, Surprise. The festival is free to attend and is open to the public.  

The Festival will showcase the visual and performing arts programs from all 20 elementary schools, four high schools and Growing Minds Preschool in the Dysart district. Performances will take place on multiple stages, and will include various dance groups, theatre troupes, choirs, and bands.  In addition, preschool, elementary and high school visual arts programs will have 2D and 3D artwork on display.  

Some of the event highlights include an instrument petting zoo, WHAM Recycled Arts Fashion Show, a Make and Take craft area hosted by the Dysart Education Foundation as well as a Chalk Exhibition on the sidewalk, and an Instrument Drive for new or used instrument donations for our schools. There will also be an Arts and Crafts Vendor Fair hosted by the Dysart Education Foundation where local artists will have their creations on display for purchase, and food trucks will be available.
