Dysart to Maintain August 4 Start Date

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — 7/1/2020

In the Dysart Unified School District, all students will start school remotely on Tuesday, August 4 for the 2020-2021 school year. While Governor Ducey delayed the start of in-person classes statewide, starting remotely is still allowable. As a result, all Dysart PreK-12 classes will begin remotely on August 4, and families that select to attend an in-person option will transition to campus when it is allowable.

Dysart has already announced in-person and full-time online options for students, and continues to consider the feasibility of other models.  The district expects to finalize class options and release specific details regarding each option and health and safety measures that will be implemented on July 6, 2020. Parents will be asked to select the option that best fits the needs of their student(s) and families by a specific date so that the district can appropriately plan for staffing needs.

Dysart Unified School District is proud to be entrusted with the education of our community, and we’re excited to welcome back our students remotely on August 4. Dysart will continue implementing enhanced health, safety and cleaning measures, evaluating protocols and processes, and providing additional training for staff. We will continue to follow the COVID-19 situation, and are in close communication with state, health and education agencies, taking direction from them in order to ensure a safe, yet productive and flexible school experience for all students.
