Dysart Awarded Certificate of Achievement for Annual Report
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — 10/19/2020
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Dysart Unified School District for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2019. This was the 16th consecutive year that Dysart has achieved this prestigious award.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by an organization and its management. In order to be awarded a Certificate of Achievement, an organization must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. This report must satisfy both generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements.
“It is quite an honor and accomplishment for a district to receive this recognition for sixteen years in a row,” said Ken Hicks, Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations. “It is a testament to the value we place on the financial transparency we strive to provide to our community. We want taxpayers to know how our funding is being spent, and take great strides to make it as easy and clear as possible.”
The award will be presented to the Dysart Unified School District Governing Board at the October 28 board meeting.
