State Testing Information AASA & AzSCI
Arizona public school students in Grades 3–8 will participate in AASA testing in English Language Arts (Reading and Writing) and Mathematics this spring. All 3rd-grade students will also complete the AASA Oral Reading Fluency (ORF) assessment. In addition, 5th and 8th-grade students will take the AzSCI Science assessment. These assessments help measure student learning and academic progress at the classroom, district, and state levels.
Testing Schedule
- Tuesday, March 31 – 5th & 8th Grade AzSCI Part 1
- Wednesday, April 1 – 5th & 8th Grade AzSCI Part 2
- Wednesday, April 1 – 3rd, 4th, 6th & 7th Grade AASA Writing
- Thursday, April 2 – 5th & 8th Grade AzSCI Part 3
- Thursday, April 2 – 3rd Grade AASA Oral Reading Fluency
- Tuesday, April 7 – 5th & 8th Grade AASA Writing
- Thursday, April 9 – 3rd–8th Grade ELA Part 1
- Friday, April 10 – 3rd–8th Grade ELA Part 2
- Tuesday, April 14 – 3rd–8th Grade AASA Math Part 1
- Wednesday, April 15 – 3rd–8th Grade AASA Math Part 2
All AASA assessments will be taken online. Please have your child bring wired headphones or earbuds to school the day before testing.
Cell phones and smartwatches are not allowed during testing. Students should leave them at home or turn them in to their teacher before testing begins.

Get a good night’s sleep
Eat a healthy breakfast
Arrive at school on time
Attendance is very important on testing days. Please avoid early checkouts and make every effort to ensure your child is present.
