Speech & Debate Scorpion Spectacular

Speech and Debate is wrapping up the year! 2 weekends ago, students competed at the Scorpion Spectacular and this weekend will be competing at the Jackrabbit Jamboree.  

At the Spectacular, Gabe Carver made it to semi finals in Children's Literature and Original Spoken Word Poetry. Olivia Valencia received 3rd place and Symphanee Brinson-Whetstone received 6th place in Children's Literature, the largest event at this tournament. 

Please congratulate these competitors, but also encourage and support the other members of the team: Laila (spoken word poetry, dramatic interpretation, and Lincoln Douglas debate) & Fatima Jama (humorous interpretation & Lincoln Douglas debate), Justin Terhune (humorous interpretation), Erin Ashby (duo interpretation with Symphanee, (impromptu speaking, and Lincoln Douglas debate), Mia Vidal (impromptu speaking and original spoken word poetry), Natalia Swarts (informative speaking), and senior Gage Savillo (impromptu speaking, poetry interpretation, and dramatic interpretation.) 

The Jackrabbit Jamboree this weekend is the last tournament of the year before State Championships in March. Please wish the competitors well!
