Student Council

Advisors:  Rachel Plitzuweit and Jennifer Hill  

Purpose: This is a student leadership group for grades 5-8 who work to promote school spirit and student voices in decision making.

National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)

Advisor:  Coby Aldana 

Purpose:  The purpose of this chapter shall be to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, to encourage the development of character, and to foster active citizenship in students.

National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS)

Advisor:  Allison Hinojosa, Natalie Neal and Jamie Mullins  

Purpose:  The purpose of this chapter shall be to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, to encourage the development of character, and to foster active citizenship in students.  Students Who Can Participate: NEHS is for students who are inducted in grades 4-6.

STEM and Robotics Grade 1-4

Advisor:   Alicia Mullins   

Purpose:  The students will participate in science, technology, engineering, and math activities with a focus on hands-on activities. The students will also learn basic coding and working with robotics.

Yearbook 

Advisors: Cady Hewitt and Natalie Williams  

Purpose:   Help preserve our school memories by creating our school yearbook. In Yearbook, middle school students have the opportunity to design, take photographs for, promote, and sell the Asante yearbook. This is a year-long commitment.

Robotics Club

Advisor: Tracy Anderson  

Purpose: Students will work with robotics to compete in challenges. The culminating event will be the district competition.

STEM Club

Advisor: Roger Lundberg and Nicole Card  

Purpose:  Students will work and STEM challenges to solve real problems and will compete in a regional competition.

Asante Mentors

Advisors: Eva Rodriguez  

Purpose: Students who want to help and assist our younger learners during the morning before school starts from 7:55-8:15.  They will get a chance to read with them or work on skills.   In addition, some peer mentors will be especially trained in helping resolve student conflict and will support grades at recess.

Pickleball Club 

Advisors: Chad Plesko, Rachel Plitzuweit and Emily Dean  

Purpose: Students will explore the game of Pickleball and work on skills and game competition.

Mathletes 

Advisors: Dana Choo and Erica Wolford  

Purpose: Students who join Mathletes will explore math challenges in teams. The culminating activity will be participation in the Mathletes District Competition.

Art Club 

Advisors: Sydney Cucchiara and Chandra Munger  

Purpose: Art club focuses on a new medium each week. The club will focus on creating pieces related to the season and curating creative minds by exposing young artists to new creative methods each week!

KPop Club

Advisors:  Dana Choo and April Choe  

Purpose: Welcome to Kpop Club, everyone! For people who are unfamiliar with Kpop, it stands for Korean pop culture. Club members will explore a new culture, food, dances, songs, and the Korean language itself. Groups include, but not limited to, BTS and Blackpink. The club also provides a safe place and opportunity for people with similar interests to interact with each other and meet some new friends.

Readers Theater

Advisors: Sarah Epperson and Jillian Gray

Purpose: Reader's Theater club will be for students interested in theater and fun!  We will practice reading stories and fables in a play format. Practicing reading a text multiple times will improve expression, accuracy, and rate of reading.

Strategic Games 

Advisors:  Angela Cooper, Lauren Melanson, and Samuel McLaran 

Purpose: Strategic Games is available for students 5th - 8th grade who would like to learn a variety of games that challenge their abilities to strategize, plan ahead, develop their thinking skills, etc.
