2nd Grade Learns About Sun and Moon Patterns

Mrs. Kelley's 2nd grade class learned about Sun/Shadow patterns using hands-on activities and interactive discussions, students have been able to observe the Sun and Moon’s positions, analyze the patterns in their movements, and relate these patterns to the phenomena of day and night. Our goal is to deepen their understanding of Earth’s rotation and the natural cycles that influence our daily lives. We encourage you to engage your child in conversations about these observations. Ask them about what they see in the sky and discuss how the Sun’s position and the length of their shadows change throughout the day.
