1st Grade explores Properties of Light

First graders have been exploring the properties of light to learn that light goes through some objects but not others. The students used a variety of materials with varying transparency to see what light will go through. They also demonstrated the effect of placing objects made with different materials in the path of a beam of light and predicted how objects with similar properties will affect the beam of light. They enjoyed using flashlights and creating shapes to block the path of light.
