Weekly Updates 8/14/23

Dear Asante Families- 

We want to thank you all for your support for a smooth arrival and dismissal please remember that you cannot drop off in the parking lot in the morning.  Please also do not double park or park in the fire lane. You must park and walk through the crosswalk or use the drop off lane.  Thank you for helping to keep our campus safe! 

• We are excited to announce that starting next Friday, we will have a full time School Resource Officer.  Officer McPheeters is coming to us with over 20 years in law enforcement.  We are excited to have this full time Surprise Police Officer onsite daily! Make sure you introduce yourself to him as you see him on campus!
• Remember that you must complete your Annual Student Update every year in the Parent Portal.  For a student to be seen in the health office, to use technology, and to have emergency and medical updates, you must complete it.  Directions for completing can be found here. It must be done by the end of August. 
• Chromebook insurance is available through August 30th. It must be paid online. To pay fees online, you can pay here. 
• Monday is House Color Day and Asante is Spirit Day to wear your spirit shirts or black and gold! 
•  If you are interested in ordering a spirit shirt or gear, here is a Link for Ordering Spirit Shirts. The 30% off sale will continue until September 7th.  You can also order house shirts by typing in Asante and the house name on the page here.  The houses are listed below:

• We have our first PTO meeting on August 15th at 4:30 in the Media Center.  We hope you can join us!  
• Message from Ms. Rodriguez: Welcome back! It has been wonderful seeing all of our new and returning students. For our new families I am Mrs. Rodriguez the school social worker, this is my third year at Asante. I am on campus full time interacting with students, families and staff. Part of my role is assisting students meet their individual and academic successes. Support and resources I assist with are food, clothing, household goods, community resource information, holiday assistance, individual student check ins and student small skills groups.
