Welcome December

Weekly Updates 12/2/24

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Break!

December is here and with it almost the end of the first semester!   We have been so thankful for all the opportunities for clubs/activities that we have been able to offer to students through our tax credit donations in semester one.  As we head into our next semester, we want to continue to be able to expand these, here is how you can help:

If you have not, you can make your tax credit donation of up to $400 for a couple or $200 for an individual per year. We hope you’ll come out to support our school and please invite your friends and family. Any Arizona taxpayer may donate, regardless of where they live, and will receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit when they file taxes. You can learn more about tax credits by visiting Dysart.org/TaxCredit and can make a donation by clicking on this link here.  This money helps to provide our clubs, enrichment, and tutoring supports here at school.

Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!

You can order your yearbook now for the 2024-2025 school year for only $27 by clicking on the preorder link here.

Estimated Impact to Your Taxes $5.94 per month, $71.22 per year

Estimated Impact to Your Taxes

The Dysart community is scheduled to pay off the voter-approved 2006 bond in fiscal year 2028. If approved, the proposed 2024 bond would phase in over three years, so there is no expected tax rate increase associated with the proposed bond. The bond tax rate would actually drop to approximately half of the current rate beginning in 2029 due to the 2006 bond phasing out.

The community is invited to learn more about the 2024 Dysart bond at Dysart.org/Bond2024, as well as detailed information on Dysart’s budgets and annual financial reports at Dysart.org/Budget.

Note: Tax rates are an estimate and are influenced by a variety of factors including Maricopa County assessed valuation fluctuations. The tax rates listed here are based on a revised estimate in July 2024.

24/25 School Year Information

Hello Asante Preparatory Families-

We are excited to begin the 2024-2025 school year!  This summer we have been busily preparing for the changes to our school moving to PK-5.  We are excited to see everyone and to greet all our new Ranger  Families as well!

COMMUNICATION

We are excited to be able to have the new tool Parent Square to be able to communicate with you this year!   This school year, all Dysart schools will be using ParentSquare as our primary communication tool for parents. This program will replace our current system for school and district messages, and upgrade and add many additional features to help keep you informed and engaged with us. With ParentSquare, you will be able to access the news feed and calendar through your choice of the website or app, and can receive messages in your preferred avenues (text, email, push notification) and language (over 130 to choose from). This new platform will allow you to direct message teachers, complete forms, signups and permission slips and view class or group specific information at your convenience.  On July 23, all parents/guardians will receive a welcome email sent to your primary email account of record listed in the Parent Portal, inviting you to activate your ParentSquare account. When you receive this email, please follow the included instructions to set everything up the way you would like. The Parent Portal will continue to be your resource for official records such as grades and attendance.  We also have very valuable Academic Success Guides that explain the content for every grade at our school.  Make sure to view them on our website here.

SCHOOL ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL INFORMATION

At Asante Preparatory Academy, school begins at 9:00 AM. and ends at 1:45 PM on Mondays and 3:45 PM on Tuesdays through Fridays.  Students who arrive to school after the 9:00 AM  bell will need to be signed in at the office. Students may NOT be on campus prior to 8:40 AM  unless attending tutoring or other activity as there is no supervision. If you have appointments and need to have your child leave early, we request that you please pick your child up before 1:30 PM. on Monday or 3:30 PM. on Tuesday through Friday.  The last 15 minutes of the day can be rather hectic and a very busy time for the office, so please note there may be delays in being about to sign out your child.  Parents/Guardians will be asked to show ID before a child may leave. Attached to this you will find the letter outlining the arrival and dismissal procedures for Asante.  If you have questions, please do not hesitate to call our office.  Please  note that we are growing again and expect slightly longer dismissal times than last year, especially at the beginning of the year. It ALWAYS takes longer for the first couple of weeks.

CHROMEBOOKS

While only used for a portion of the time, all  students in K-5 will be assigned their own chromebooks for use as needed in the classroom. .  At Meet the Teacher, your child’s chromebook will be issued to them when you sign the form.  You will then be assigned an optional $25 fee for insurance for the year that you can pay online in your Parent Portal.  This insurance will be available until August 30th.   If you do not get the insurance, you will be responsible to pay to fix the chromebook through our IT department  or to replace it at a cost of $400 should it not be repairable. If you do not attend Meet the Teacher, your child will be assigned their chromebook after you have returned the signed form. If your child has any outstanding fees on their account, they will not be assigned a Chromebook until those fees are paid.  Here is a link on where to pay fees and view them.  Chromebooks will have the ability to be left at school this year in carts in the classroom,  so students will not have to take them to and from school.

PARENT TEACHER ORGANIZATION (PTO)

Asante’s  PTO is one of the key components that make this a tremendous school! By joining you get the opportunity to vote and have a say on how the funds are spent! Weekly Updates 3/11/24

Dear Asante Families-

Our students have been working so hard this year, and we are so proud of all of their accomplishments!  One of the things we continue to focus on here at Asante is student growth.  In doing so, we continuously look for students to strive for their own personal All Time Bests.  This is a great way for you to have conversations with your children at home about what they are working on what they are hoping to get an “all time best in” !

As we head into the time of state testing this really helps all of our students see this time as a time not to be anxious at all, but just as a time to show what they know and to help us see where we can still help them to grow further!  When we get back from Spring Break, our testing begins pretty quickly, so here is a link to the important dates.  Please keep this in mind when making appointments etc.. as attendance is very important during this time.

  • Spirit Week by Student Council is this week, here are the days:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - 09/22/2023

DYSART SCHOOLS - The Dysart Unified School District is seeking parents/guardians, community members and staff who are interested in serving on a boundary change committee. The purpose is to evaluate possible boundary changes to accommodate the growth in the northern part of our district to Asante Preparatory Academy boundaries, and to provide a recommendation to the Governing Board.  Potential recommendations may also impact other schools in the northern part of the Dysart district in order to offset and adjust for growth, and could involve changes in grade configurations as a consideration.

Interested individuals should complete the interest form at www.dysart.org/boundarycommittee by October 4 to apply. Those selected will be notified on or before October 6. Applicants should be prepared to attend meetings from 5:00 to 6:30pm on Tuesday, October 17 and Monday, October 23, and any subsequent meetings to be determined by the committee. Committee meetings will be open to the public to observe, but only committee members will be permitted to participate. Additionally, a Public Hearing will be held on Thursday, November 16 prior to the Governing Board Meeting where the public can provide comments on the proposed changes.

Dysart is committed to ensuring that there is representation from all impacted areas of the district on the committee. The committee’s final recommendations are expected to be presented to the Governing Board at a public meeting on Thursday, December 14.
