Weekly Updates 10/30/23
Dear Asante Families-
Thank you to everyone who has continued to work on with you children on attendance. It is so critical to student success here at school. Research shows that missing 10 percent of the school, or about 18 days for the year, negatively affects a student’s academic performance. That’s just two days a month and that’s known as chronic absence. We appreciate your continued help as this is critical to success!
Here are the other important updates and information:
- Our school office will be closed on the afternoon of October 30th at 1:15 due to training for the front office staff. This is after our 1:00 dismissal.
- The community is invited to view a brief presentation about the boundary change process, the committee's work, and next steps, followed by a Q&A session. We hope you can join us at 6:00p.m. on November 8 at Asante Preparatory Academy, 23251 N 166th Dr., Surprise AZ 85387, for the meeting.
- Our Color Run donation drive kicks off today and we're super excited!!! On November 9th, our students will be participating in a Color Run to get active, have a blast, and help raise money to support our school!! Click here to find your student's Color Run page for more information, then type in your student's first name: https://AsanteRuns.pledge-drive.net/
- Our school will be taking part in a district-wide canned food drive all this next week. Students can bring cans into the front office to be donated to the Valley View Community Food Bank.
- If your child will be out, please call the attendance line 623-523-8900 and press 1. Please make sure to leave the student name, grade and the reason for the absence.
Have a great week!
