February 2nd is Groundhog Day

Did You Know?

Groundhog Day, celebrated annually on February 2nd, is a tradition where a groundhog emerges from its burrow to predict the arrival of spring; if it sees its shadow (sunny day), winter lasts six more weeks, but if it doesn't (cloudy day), spring comes early, with the most famous prognosticator being Punxsutawney Phil in Pennsylvania, a custom rooted in German folklore and formalized in the U.S. in the 1880s.
