Blood Drive at Shadow

Student Council and HOSA will be hosting a community blood drive on Thursday, October 10th, in the Auditorium Lobby.

Year-round, more than 25% of the blood supply goes to help patients fighting all types of cancer. Blood transfusions replenish a patient’s healthy blood cells during cancer treatment or surgery. There are more than 4 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S. including those still undergoing treatment. Vitalant urges all eligible blood donors to give this October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To donate you must be at least 16, if you are under 18, you need to get a permission slip from the front office and bring it with you during your donation time.

Every person that donates will get a certificate for a free kids meal at Raising Cane's and be entered in a drawing for prizes that include $20 gift cards for Raising Cane's and certificates for a free pint of custard from Culver's. Check out the flyers hung around campus or your Class of Schoology course for more information on how to sign up. When you sign up to donate online, you can also register for a $5,000 giveaway from Vitalant.
