Textbook Adoption Process

K-12 Social Studies Textbook Adoption Review

Dysart Unified School District is conducting a review of its K-12 Social Studies textbooks during the 2026-2027 school year. 

A committee of stakeholders will meet to evaluate the current Social Studies resources and determine whether it sufficiently meets the needs of Dysart students and teachers. The committee will consider whether the textbooks are aligned to Arizona Academic Standards, usable for teachers, and supportive of high-quality reading instruction. 

Based on this review, the committee will determine whether the current textbooks continue to meet district needs or whether the district should initiate a formal textbook adoption and bid process. The K-12 Social Studies Textbook Review Committee is scheduled to meet on: 

• October 21, 2026
• November 4, 2026
• February 24, 2027(tentative)
