Course Selection Policy and Procedures

Timeline

December: Teachers distribute course selection forms to all students. 


Tips for filling out the course selection form: 


1) Read the course descriptions located in the Dysart Course Guide 

2) Talk to teachers on campus to learn more about our classes and programs 

3) Communicate with your current teachers for advice on upper levels classes. 


January: Counselors meet with all students individually to collect forms and input courses. 


Course selection forms require a parent signature as well as a teacher signature for any Honors, AP and Dual Enrollment class that is selected. Courses cannot be changed after collected by the counselor.

Schedule Changes

Be sure to check the DUSD course selection guide so you can make informed decisions about your class selections. 


Counselor do not make schedule changes! 


Exceptions include:  

Gap or "blanks" in your schedule 

Changes are needed to meet graduation requirements  

Failure of a prerequisite course 

Placed in incorrect course (you have already earned the credit for it or are placed in the wrong grade)
